A Wednesday night that has that Sunday feeling

It's the tail end of ANZAC day; a day to remember and reflect on past losses and sacrifices. A day off, mid-week, is also always a day to stop, rest, and reset. A lovely picture that my good friend took on her recent trip to Doha for a TedX Summit captures my mood, just so.

shelleyberelli presents ... new zippered purses

We've not had much of a summer. Plenty of rain and dark days that make it dash hard to get the light just right for photographing new wares. I've made a pile of purses for the upcoming the BrisStyle indie Twilight Markets (the BiTM for those in the know). My trigger finger's itchy and I'd love to share some of my new creations with you. Hopefully we'll have a fine week end, but in the mean time, here are three I managed to capture on a gorgeous April afternoon.

shelleyberelli presents ... new jewelley wraps

The next BrisStyle indie Twilight Markets are snapping at my heels. The next markets are in under a month - I'll be on the co-op stall with a bunch of fab BrisStylettes. I'm doing my last-minute-sew-a-thon, as usual, and here are my most recent spoils off the production line.

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

This morning I had to say good bye to some dear friends. Friends who'd been with me for a long time. Through thick and thin. Trips overseas, long lunches, shopping excursions - even exercise sessions. This morning I had to throw out a pair of swimmers and two of my favourite skirts, a light blue corduroy one and a cute denim number with pale pockets with royal blue piping. "I've one word to say to you Kimmie, threadbare!". Oh, the humanity! I think shopping for swimmers, bathers, togs (which is what I really call them, but my sister-in-law always laughs when I do) is worse than shopping for jeans! I do *not* look forward to traipsing through shops to get some more - and luckily I don't have to. A quick trip to DFO this morning found me some at 50% off. I got some for 30 bucks and you really *can't* go wrong there. If only the skirts were as easily replaced. They've been with me for a lot longer - dare I admit I bought them both from a shop called Bershka, in Spain (Seville, if memory serves..) on a trip in 1999. Oh dear, line me up for the next episode of Hoarders! I'll be sure they go to a good home - maybe some new denim shelleyberelli mini-clutches with corduroy lining? I'll keep you posted.

Let's go shopping ... the non-rhyming edition

We all know that that orange and purple do not rhyme with any other word/s. But apparently there are over 70 words* that are flying solo. Those words have inspired today's BrisStyle's-Let's-Go-Shopping.

Almond
Luggage
Orange
Purple
Sandwich
Silver
